The Pressure Hand is arguably the most versatile hand upgrade in Chapter 5, enabling access to more optional areas than any other hand type. While the Grabber is the baseline traversal tool and the Magnetic/Conductive hands unlock specific puzzle mechanics, the Pressure Hand opens up the game's exploration space by letting you destroy environmental barriers that gate hidden content. The final VHS tape — widely considered the most important lore collectible in the chapter — is locked behind Surgery Room 2, which can only be accessed by smashing reinforced glass with the Pressure Hand. In Lily's Mansion, the Pressure Hand takes on a narrative function: Lily has petrified her party guests into statues, and you must use the Pressure Hand to shatter the stone encasement and free them. This is one of the most emotionally charged sequences in the chapter because you discover that Lily's 'tea party' was actually a trap. The hand is obtained relatively early (Main Office area) but remains useful throughout the entire game, making it the hand you will use most frequently after the Grabber. The code 0859 for the locked cabinet is a fixed code — it does not randomize between playthroughs, unlike some other codes in Chapter 5. The UV light mechanic for finding the code is also a tutorial for a recurring puzzle type used later in the game.
