Emotion Keypad Door Code
Opens a hidden optional door in the Conditioning wing that leads to the Experiment 1170 VHS tape. The keypad uses cartoon emotion faces instead of numbers.
TL;DR
Happy, Happy, Disgust, Sad, Fear, Happy
Reward: Access to VHS Tape — Experiment 1170 (cyan tape) containing Playtime Co experiment lore
The Emotion Keypad is one of the most missed secrets in Chapter 5 because it is entirely optional and easy to walk past. The door is in the Conditioning Area — the same wing where Playtime Co ran psychological experiments on children. The keypad uses six cartoon faces representing basic emotions (Happy, Sad, Fear, Disgust, etc.), making it unique among the chapter's codes. The clue to the correct sequence plays during Huggy Wuggy's final memory breakout sequence, but many players miss it because they're focused on surviving the chase. Behind the door is the Experiment 1170 VHS tape (cyan), one of three tapes in Chapter 5 and a significant lore piece about Playtime Co's experiments.
How to Find
- 1Reach the Conditioning Area (Level 4)
- 2Look for a door with a keypad showing cartoon emotion faces instead of numbers
- 3The clue is revealed during Huggy Wuggy's final memory breakout sequence — pay attention to the faces shown
- 4Input the sequence: Happy → Happy → Disgust → Sad → Fear → Happy
- 5Enter the room behind the door
- 6Find the cyan VHS tape inside and play it on the cyan VCR down the corridor
Troubleshooting
This is an OPTIONAL door — you can complete Chapter 5 without opening it, so it's easy to miss entirely
The code is static for most players: Happy, Happy, Disgust, Sad, Fear, Happy
If you accidentally progressed past the memory keypad, reload your last checkpoint — it should be right after the last memory
Make sure you're selecting the correct emotion faces — Disgust and Fear look very similar on the keypad
Happy is the smiley face, Disgust is the green face with tongue out, Sad is the blue crying face, Fear is the purple wide-eyed face
The VHS tape is behind this door, not the door itself — look inside the room for the cyan tape
After picking up the tape, the cyan VCR to play it is in the ruined room at the end of the corridor on the left
